Ever look at a beautiful room and wonder how did they do that – and, more importantly, how can I do something similar at home? We break it down:
It’s classic coastal – with a twist
Everyone loves timeless blue and white, but adding coral energizes the mix. “I love coral – it’s so happy and upbeat,” says Annie, who went through several rounds of design to ensure that the color was pitch-perfect – and not orange. “It has a touch of blue and a touch of yellow for a shade that’s bright, yet subtle,” she explains.
Repetition, repetition, repetition
“I like to find a color link to marry disparate elements,” says Annie. Here, a tight palette of blue, white, and coral dispersed throughout the space – the striped rug, the pillows, even the art – give the entire room cohesion.
The pillows are “friends”
People often get intimidated by mixing and matching pillows, so we designed a collection that works in any combination. “It’s a foolproof way to create really interesting pillow scapes – instead of having the same thing at either end of the sofa,” Annie explains.
