When Annie needed curtains for her new house, she knew exactly who to call: William Caligari, interior design guru and master of custom linens. We’ll have the full run-down on those curtains later this week (trust us: you don’t want to miss it), but in the meantime, we’re jazzed that William has just opened the doors to Linen, his first retail store, in Great Barrington, Massachusetts. “I wanted to create a venue where we could sell fine sheeting; Belgian linens; and cotton linens for bed, bath, and table,” he says. His tightly edited collection includes lots of Pine Cone Hill, which he loves for its quality and adaptability.
William’s residential and commercial design firm, William Caligari Interiors, was founded in 1989, and is one of seven family businesses that include a hardware store, a decorating store, and the Drapery Workroom, where he and his staff turn out cool custom projects like Annie’s drapes. “We can customize anything,” he affirms—from a 123-foot tablecloth for an extralong dining table to an entire bed (headboard to sheets, duvet, pillows, and bed skirt!) for a master bedroom. “We also take products from different companies, like Pine Cone Hill, and customize them with banding or embroidery to complement other pieces in the home,” he explains.
In addition, Linen carries the signature William Caligari for Linen line. Inspired by William’s love of classic design, equestrian life, and elegant country living, it features hand towels embroidered with adorable horses, simple yet chic dinner napkins, and matching sets of table linens.
