Tips for a Fabulous Late-Summer Picnic

Don’t put away that picnic basket just yet!

In the south, they say fall is the reward for surviving summer but even in the Berkshires al fresco season is still going strong. In fact many people up in these parts think the best time for outdoor entertaining is just after Labor Day, so we’re not packing away our picnic equipment just yet!

So how do we prep for the perfect late summer /early fall soiree?

Start with the Perfect Foundation
Indoor/outdoor rugs are so much sturdier than picnic blankets and much easier to clean, should (inevitable) spills occur. Plus, they’re just plain pretty to look at! Set the perfect scene with patterned P.E.T. and woven polypropylene styles in a full range of sizes and colors to fit any crew.

Add a Little Comfort

If sitting on the ground isn’t your speed, bring along a few indoor/outdoor poufs or woufs to create comfy and stylish seating. For added comfort, why not pack a few pillows and a throw or two (or three), in case a cool fall breeze starts to blow.

Serve Everything in Style
Go easy on mother earth and skip the paper products. Not only are our melamine plates and servewear durable and stylish but they also create less waste and can be reused for more fabulous entertaining down the road.  And don’t forget the linen napkins!

Spice Up the Cocktails

Early September is officially the start of apple season in the northeast, presenting the perfect opportunity to sprinkle a little bit of fall info your al fresco cocktail menu. Add a little cider to your punch or perhaps serve up apple mojitos to celebrate the official fruit of late summer / early fall!  Whichever you choose, we suggest serving these tasty libations in our no-glass, no-smash acrylic tumblers.
