Steal This Look: Alicia’s Bedroom on The Good Wife

A Material World

Safe to say that we get a little obsessed with stylish costume and interior design in our favorite movies and TV shows. We’ve covered shows and films as disparate as Grace & Frankie, Marvel’s Agent Carter,  The Change-Up, and House of Cards, and today we’re paying tribute to on one of the sleekest (and—let’s give credit where it’s due—best-written) shows currently on TV: The Good Wife, and especially Alicia’s bedroom, which warms up the high-end-hotel formula with some smart decorating additions.

We’ve been in love with the pared-down, modern, sometimes moody interiors on The Good Wife since day one. We love that set decorator Beth Kushnick and her crew have created a high-end yet accessible look by mixing custom and designer pieces with affordable décor from stores like West Elm, Home Decorators, and Jonathan Adler. The result is spaces that look effortlessly chic yet lived-in, and that can be replicated even without the backing of a big Hollywood budget.

Alicia’s Chicago apartment bedroom is one of our faves, thanks to its cool wall and bedding palette mixed with warm wood furniture. And that Old Hollywood–glam vanity table and mirror? What a way to make a feminine statement in a room that’s tailored and largely unisex. Here’s how to get the look:

1. Montreal Sleigh Bed

2. Dots Semolina Decorative Pillow

3. Claudia Mirrored Vanity/Desk

4. Nevis Silver Oak Jute Woven Rug

5. Carina Zinc Flat Sheet

6. Trinita Zinc Matelassé Coverlet

7. Makura Mirror

8. Benjamin Moore Beach Glass

9. Beaumont Dresser
