With fall just around the bend, we’re looking to transitional pieces and color palettes that combine the last-hurrah feeling of summer with warmer, cozier fabrics and textures. So we started with Annie’s best-selling Harlequin area rug, a cushy, dig-your-toes-into-it wonder crafted of hooked cotton that works in pretty much any room of the house. With our foundation in place, we tapped the experts at Sherwin-Williams to create an exclusive color palette based on the rug.
This Sherwin-Williams paint palette is all about the easiness of warm neutrals with a pop of deep plum-brown for fall, plus an effervescent, medium blue as a nod to late summer. We love this color palette’s tranquil feeling, and its ability to look sophisticated and polished while keeping the unique pattern of the area rug as the room’s focal point.
So sit back and take in the understated beauty of this room palette . . . then enter the giveaway for a 3’ x 5’ Harlequin rug, plus a $100 gift card from Sherwin-Williams! That’s almost $400 in interior decorating goodies, for free!

Definitely our bedroom. It needs a total makeover and some TLC.
My living room!
My bedroom is my sanctuary! Everything in my bedroom has to be perfect from the temperature, the lighting, the perfect mattress, and I could go on and on down to the candles. It has to be this way because sleep is so vital for a few medical issues. The only thing I have left to find is the most luxurious rug to touch my feet as I get in and out of bed. Many people take all of their senses for granted, but I do not because all of my senses are hyper-stimulated. That softness upon your feet and as you soak your toes in the softness is such a rewarding feeling that many do not understand. Mom’s old house isn’t conducive to all my needs but we work with what we have. My room could use a great color palette and what is leftover we could use in our small bathroom. Thanks for the opportunity and thanks for introducing me to Annie Selke.

I would use this rug in my guest bedroom/home office craft room. (who says one room can’t have 3 functions?) The walls are a pale misty green and I have lovely Pottery Barn bedding that would perfectly complement this rug. I love that even though the rug is “neutral”, it still provides a pop of soothing color.
