We love how our friends John and Sherry of Young House Love used our Birmingham Black runner to spruce up their staircase! You can see the full DIY project in this post.
Another popular interior design blogging couple, Shea and Syd McGee of Studio McGee used our Birmingham Black runner to liven up this light and bright entryway design:

The black in the rug pops beautifully against the light wood and white walls. Swoon!
In this scene, we paired Birmingham Black with our classic Tattersall Black and White rug to create a monochromatic pattern party!
Did You Know?
Birmingham Black was such a popular pattern that the design was translated into a decorative pillow and a cozy throw?
Which of the above Birmingham Black “moments” is your favorite and why? Join the conversation in the comments below for your chance to win your very own Birmingham Black Cotton Woven Rug – up to an 8×10 size! We’ll choose the winner next Friday September 29th. Good luck!

I love this rug for two reasons- looks amazing as a stair runner, modern and classic AND I’m from Birmingham (Alabama)
Really loving it on the stairs! How cool is that!! Looks phenomenal. Adds great textural interest with a fun, yet neutral rug. I can see it in a contemporary or traditional setting. In my case, I’m thinking it will be great in my traditional playroom with neutral colored furniture and pops of deep blues, purples and greens for a hint of elegance for the adults and fun for the kiddos. Awesome rug, Annie Selke!
I love the stripe as it has a better asethic value to me as the checkered look is to busy by itself but looks great used with the stripe or a solid .. I would love to have an 8×10 as I just got a new wood floor and tomorrow the 22 of Sept is my 43 rd Anniversary and I got married when I was 16 and my hubby was 19.. and next month on the 19 th of October I turn 60.. I am really struggling with this one… I just got Ann’s new catalog I want so many things out of it lol❤️❤️❤️
Your designs are totally Awesome and I love too many but I am definitely going to get something
Studio McGee! We are moving into a new home next week with a similar entryway! I was wondering how I would decorate it, and what kind of rug would look perfect there. Now I know!!
I like the McGee hallway because the rug adds visual interest to an otherwise very calm design.
I’ve been fantasizing about these black stripes for ages! Would go perfectly in my living room, painted “cracked pepper.” I discovered finally that black is my signature home decor color.
It’s just perfect with the plaid one… so happy together! 🙂
I love the runner in the bright entryway! It looks so simple yet unique.
stripes how I love thee… truly timeless!
I love how it softens and adds texture as a stair runner at young house love
Love all of your rugs but my homes lends itself to the Black or Navy rugs. So classic they’re my fav!
Classic designs that pop and add personality to any room! Absolutely love these fresh rugs!
