Outdoor Party Tips

Ahh, sweet summer—the biggest party season of the year! If you’re thinking of a midsummer night’s soiree but haven’t pulled all of the details together yet, we’ve got some fabulous outdoor party tips for you, straight from Annie herself – designed to make your summertime fête just perfect!

Pick Your Palette
Start with a simple two or three-color palette. Picking just a few colors makes it super easy to coordinate all of the pieces, including linens and décor and give your outdoor gathering a real pop! Go high-contrast with one dark and one light hue, like the blues of our Geo Blue melamine dinnerware.

Use Linens You Love

Annie always recommends using real table linens. Disposable napkins and placemats don’t actually save money; when you add up the cost of purchasing in large quantities over the years, you’ll see that it’s actually more economical to buy good-quality, reusable table linens. We love our Stonewashed Linen napkins, which stand up well to repeat trips through the laundry and look far more polished than any paper napkin ever could. They’re also a no-guilt way to reduce party waste.

And disposable cups? Please, no!  Try our gorgeous, smash-proof Swirl Blue wine glasses and tumblers for a stylish and sustainable way to serve that frosé.

Focus on the Foundations
Outdoor entertaining can often involve improvising the seating space. What better way to do this than with our indoor/outdoor poufs and a festive indoor/outdoor rug to cover the ground?  Our poufs are the perfect ad-hoc seat (or ottoman or staging tray for cool summer drinks) and are made of the toughest stuff while remaining lightweight and totally washable. Perfect for the porch, patio, picnic or even kids rooms! We love our Samode Pouf, in the ever-versatile navy.

Finally, adding a gorgeous and functional indoor/outdoor rug is the perfect finishing touch to your summer soirée, whether you’re partying on the patio, the beach or lawn of your favorite concert venue.
