Happy Valentine’s Day, Fresh American fans! Whether your vision of the holiday includes a lavish flower delivery and a box of decadent chocolate truffles, a dressed-up date at your favorite restaurant, or an evening of streaming Netflix movies while enjoying a bit of tandem Ben & Jerry’s snacking straight from the pint container, one thing’s certain: when the fun’s done, we all have to go to bed at some point. That’s why Annie came up with this fresh new bedding look, which not only honors Valentine’s Day, in all its red- and pink-hearted glory, but also gives a new spin on some old favorites.
To make the bed both she- and he-friendly, Annie started with a textured, tailored quilt and shams in a substantial charcoal cotton. For comfort and ease, she added versatile white, 400-thread-count cotton sheets embellished with a sweet, petite ruffle. (A classic, unembellished bed skirt keeps the look from getting too frilly.) She smoothed a fuchsia bedspread with an old-school stitching detail over the top, and added some decorative pillows to match. We love the combination of the drapey, gathered spread with the straight lines of the quilt; the multiple textures; and the juxtaposition of lights, neutrals, and brights. It’s a look that’s homey, cozy, and more than just a little romantic.
So what do you think? Would you try this look at home?
