How To Pack The Perfect Picnic

Picnics Perfected

One of our favorite parts of summer is picnicking outdoors at our favorite spots. Whether its lunch on the beach or dinner under the stars, there’s no better way to enjoy the season and we have the easiest three-step guide to picnic perfection.

Step One – Lay the Foundation

We always pack a lightweight indoor/outdoor rug to cover the ground, especially as not all venues allow folding chairs (and getting sand in your food is no fun!).  No worries about messes–these rugs are bleachable, washable and scrubbable, so spills and splotches wash right off.

Add a few indoor/outdoor pillows and you’ve’ got a cozy spot for everyone.

Step Two – Get Packing

A good cooler is essential for any picnic–whether at the beach or under the stars. Even better are coolers that are easy to pack and carry.

For apps and drinks with your sweetie, our Romantic Cooler is the way to go. Fully insulated, this cooler comes with essentials for wine and cheese at sunset or at your favorite outdoor concert, including cloth napkins, cheeseboard, and knife and unbreakable wine glasses. Pack a bottle or two of your favorite wine and a few snacks, and you’re ready to go.

For lunch at the lake, take our Escape Cooler.  Stocked with elegant dining essentials for two and a roomy, insulated pouch for your favorite summer salads and beverages, the Escape Cooler helps elevate your picnic to a whole new level.

For all your picnic extras (don’t forget the sunscreen and the bug spray), pack everything in style in one of our New Totes from Sea Bags. Fun and rugged, these bags are made from recycled boat sails and are roomy enough to hold plenty of picnic and beach necessities.

If you’re beach-bound, make sure to pack a few extra towels and a tunic for the perfect beach cover-up.

Step Three – Add It On

Feeding a crowd?  Make sure to pack additional tableware like our Geo Blue Melamine Dinner Plates and coordinating napkins. Stylish but well-suited for outdoor dining. We also love our ‘no glass, no smash’ Swirl Blue Tumblers and Wine Glasses for cold beverages.

Add a cheeseboard too, like our new Disc Cheese Board. It comes complete with three specialty knives for serving up your favorite fromages.

Need a bit of table space or a place to put your feet up while you’re dining alfresco? Our indoor/outdoor poufs are made for triple duty: seat, table, and footrest – take your pick!
