Hi, everyone! Julie here from Belle Maison, excited to be a guest blogger on Fresh American! The holiday season is officially here and Christmas is right around the corner. For many of us, that means it’s time to put on the festive music, make some hot chocolate, and break out the Christmas decorations. If you’re a little bored with what you usually do and are in need of some new ideas and inspiration, today’s post is all about creating a White Christmas theme in your home. Sure, you have the traditional red and green color scheme, but why not change things up and try something fresh and new? Continue reading for design tips, DIY projects, and more on how to create your very own winter wonderland! We’re also doing a fun giveaway from Pine Cone Hill, so be sure to check out the details and enter to win at the end of this post. Cheers!
Get the Look: White Christmas with a modern twist and touch of glamour.
It’s all about layering in various shades of white, lots of texture, and sparkly accents like clear glass, metallic silver or gold, and mercury glass. You want to keep the decor simple, fresh, and elegant. If all white is “too white,” then try adding an accent color like turquoise, black, or fuchsia.
Design Tip #1: A simple and elegant living room with touches of gold. The hanging paper star lanterns are festive and fun! I found similar ones you can purchase here.
Design Tip #2: Give your fireplace mantel “wow” factor by layering in festive artwork, candle holders, etc. How cute are these canvases? They were an easy and affordable DIY project, which you can see here. In addition to hanging stockings from the mantel, hang ornaments or paper snowflakes.
Design Tip #3: Hang a small wreath from the back of your dining chairs to bring in a touch of greenery.
Design Tip #4: Hang ornaments from a large branch or sticks placed in a glass vase. You can also spray paint the branches white!
Design Tip #5: Wrap a canvas with wrapping paper or fabric to add an exciting backdrop to a table vignette.
Design Tip #6: If you don’t have a fireplace mantel to hang your stockings, try a ladder like this vintage wood one! This is especially a great idea for small spaces such as an apartment.
It’s all about the details, right?! Here are a few more fun ideas to get you inspired…
Clockwise From top Left: Mason jars filled with Epsom salt and candles (the Epsom salt adds a little sparkle when the candles are lit); Set your dining table with festive plates, napkins, and decorations; A simple DIY wreath project you have to try!; Christmas star made up of glued buttons – another easy DIY idea.
Keeping with the White Christmas theme, I’ve selected this fabulous Sugari Check Throw from Pine Cone Hill to give away to one lucky winner!
