We admit that sometimes we get a little cuckoo-crazy with holiday decorating, especially when it comes to table centerpieces. After all, why is the word center in it, if not for us to treat like center-stage, center-of-attention real estate? But sometimes a minimal approach has maximum effect, so we were pretty jazzed when Annie designed this easy, affordable, white-wonder take on the centerpiece, just in time for Thanksgiving!
To keep the feel laid-back and organic, Annie picked up some white pumpkins in two different sizes, and varying shades of snow and ivory to give the neutral color story depth. White lilies, with their dramatic, shapely blooms, are one of Annie’s favorite flowers for arrangements, so she tucked these and some classic white roses between the pumpkins. The magnolia leaves, another neutral, echo the chestnut color in the granite tabletop, while the green eucalyptus leaves offer a peppy burst of color.
Annie simply placed the flowers and leaves between the close-set pumpkins, but if you’re worried about bumping the arrangement, you can insert the stems into water-filled picks and then into small blocks of floral foam. The centerpiece looks great au naturel on the tabletop, or set atop a subtle gold or silver table runner. We also love a longer version of the arrangement for a fireplace mantel or console table—anywhere that needs a pop of holiday cheer.
