When Annie first brought home her new Basset hound puppies, Googie and Impy, earlier this year, she immediately called on friend and pro pet portraitist Amanda Jones to immortalize all that giddy, goofy puppy energy on film. (Check out some adorable behind-the-scenes pics and video here.) Now, as Annie’s home reno is entering its final stages, we get to share the results of that shoot: a spectacular photo installation in Annie’s hallway.
Annie knew she needed large art to cover the tall walls leading up to the second floor, and although she scoured a variety of antique shops and galleries, she just couldn’t find the It piece she was looking for. Then she had a flash of inspiration: why not deck the halls with a series of canvas-mounted photo prints of her dogs? After all, not only are they her constant companions, but they also happen to match her neutral interiors pretty nicely.
Annie went with this selection of images so she could showcase both the puppies and longtime pal Emmet (that’s him in the center, providing a pop of color with his ever-present red ball), in a variety of dynamic and Vogue-worthy poses. The symmetrical arrangement of Amanda’s photos over the widest part of the wall is offset by two extra pieces on the left, which help balance the height of the space.
