Winter Scarf Style

You’ve probably gotten the impression by now that we have a thing for scarves. Our closets are stocked with dozens of silk, wool, and cotton scarves (our significant others say too many, but, hey, potato, poh-tah-to), and we love the way they elevate an outfit from basic to brilliant in about five seconds flat. One of our current favorites is Annie’s Velvet Flowers Blue scarf, a lightweight wool warmer with a traditional floral print rendered in a very now palette of violet, fuchsia, tangerine, and leafy shades of green—all on an easygoing background the color of a your favorite faded jean jacket.

This scarf gives a bit of uptown flair to East Coast–chic monochromatic grey or black outfits, and looks hipster-cool with a blazer or grandpa cardigan, denim skirt, tights, and booties. We could go on and on about the hundreds of ways we’ll be styling this scarf, but for now, here’s a little inspiration, featuring slouchy-comfy neutrals, gold-tone jewelry, and an effortlessly hot pair of bootcut cords in the most gorgeous shade of goldenrod:

  1. Anthropologie Bangili cuff
  2. Anthropologie Fringeloop Felt Rancher
  3.  Jules B cashmere boyfriend jumper
  4. Marc Jacobs ‘Classic Q – New’ Billfold wallet
  5. French Connection Midnight Tassel Arm Warmers
  6. Prada 56mm sunglasses
  7. Prada leather ankle boots
  8. Anthropologie Cameo Valley Tassel necklace
  9. Just Cavalli cotton corduroys
  10. Velvet Flowers Blue scarf
