This Month in Furniture Face-Lifts

There’s nothing we love more than seeing a piece of furniture with good bones but a misguided, eyeball-burning paint or upholstery job get a second chance at life through refinishing. In the past month, we’ve enjoyed a variety DIYs from the blogosphere, like these fun and (mostly) easy projects. Seen any great furniture face-lifts lately? Post about them in the comments!

With so many folks living on a budget tighter than a red-carpet gown, knock-offs are all the rage. This cute—but not cutesy— Urban Outfitters Inspired Nightstand from Craft Habit is a minty fresh kick.

Curbly’s Modern Furniture Makeovers run the gamut from über-simple to creatively complex. We especially like this circular link-embellished dresser.
Saving roadside discards one sad, sagging chair at a time, Intentionally Inspired brings us this ridiculously simple, reupholstered Cool Stool.

Miss Mustard Seed, aka the Maven of Milk Paint, strikes again with this china cabinet makeover. It may not have made the cut for her upcoming book, but we think the mix of pale blue and ivory exterior and toasty-warm red interior is seriously stunning.

Since it’s gardening season and all, Pretty Handy Girl asks, “Why not take an old bed frame, upcycle it into a garden bench, and then refinish it to breezy perfection?” (We’re paraphrasing, but you get the drift.)

Sweet Pickins knows ’tis better to spruce up than scrap—hence these clever Repurposed Headboards.
