That’s all we want to do when we look at this amazingly serene English country home, featured in the February/March issue of Traditional Home. That and pull back the covers and snuggle up in the bed, or sprawl out on the sofa and and read a book, or sink into the tub, overflowing with bubbles . . .
But we digress. What we love most about this romantic design is its simplicity—some luxe, curvaceous furniture; beautifully rich fabrics; and a gentle color palette that resembles a blooming lilac shrub. We’re also crazy for the mix of modern elements, like the glass table lamps, the patterned headboard, and Lucite benches combined with vintage pieces, from the Belgian-oak, fur-upholstered settee to the gold-leaf coffee table and the zinc tub. The flowers and mirrored accessories are a nice touch, but we’re also coveting that sweet, lace-covered bolster on the settee—texture, provenance, and personality all rolled into one. Romantic décor doesn’t get much prettier and easier. Sigh.
