Pillow(case) Talk

Have you ever loved a set of sheets to pieces? (Guilty as charged!) Or maybe you accidentally subjected that brand-new fitted sheet to some high-heat shrinkage, and now it springs off the corner of your bed faster than an Olympic gymnast. (Been there, too.) So what do you do with those extra pillowcases that have lost their bed mates?

If you have a little girl in your life, we’ve got the answer: supereasy, supercomfy, summer-tastic pillowcase dresses. All it takes is a sewing machine, a pillowcase in a frisky print, a bit of thread, and some grosgrain ribbon, and voilà—you’ve got an adorable sundress like this one in less time than it takes to do a load of laundry.  Watch our simple how-to video, visit Nancy’s Notions for sizing guides and printable templates, and get cracking.

And if you’re feeling both crafty and charitable, donate your handiwork to Little Dresses for Africa, a nonprofit that provides relief to African children. Giving back doesn’t get much easier.

These are so precious. But if you aren’t handy with a needle, I very recently saw some adorable little girl pillowcase dresses listed on etsy.
