On September 14, Annie hit the bricks to Richmond, Virginia, for Designed for a Cure, a special event sponsored by one of our favorite home decorating stores, Williams & Sherrill and held at the ridiculously majestic Country Club of Virginia. The all-day event, proceeds of which benefited the Virginia chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, featured a decorating Q&A, a luncheon, workshops, and a special presentation by Annie.
In her talk, Annie looked back at how she started her design career, the design process on her own homes, and her beloved Clumber spaniels—Dash, Daisy, and Emmet—who inspired her to establish Dash & Albert Rug Company and who continue to inspire her to create home products that are original, full of personality, and everyday practical. She also gave a peek into the process of writing Fresh American Spaces, and an in-depth look at each of the five design styles she discusses in the book (for more on those, just click inside the orange nav bar toward the top of this page, under our logo).
Check out some highlights of Annie’s talk in our latest video.
