Great in Bed for 20 Years Guest Stylist: Victoria Smith of sfgirlbybay

With the searing heat and humidity of August upon us, we’ve been looking for ways to lighten up and cool down. And when we asked Victoria Smith of the legendary sfgirlbybay blog how she would dress her bed this summer, we knew she’d dream up exactly the laid-back, modern boho bedding look that would keep us cool till the temperatures turn.

“I’m very much into light-colored bedding,” Victoria says. “I just find it more restful and peaceful for a good night’s sleep.” So she started with the endlessly versatile backdrop of a white stone-washed linen duvet and shams, and topped them with cotton sheets in one of the most effortlessly elegant prints we’ve ever seen. In keeping with her simple yet impactful aesthetic, Victoria skipped the multiple layers and finished off the look with a bright coral throw and double boudoir pillow—both in a beautifully tactile, enzyme-washed linen with soft, fringed ends.  “I love the pop of coral in the throw and pillow to bring out the paisley print in the sheets,” she notes.

Even better, while the look has an upscale edge, all pieces are machine washable and get softer with each spin through the laundry. Does it get much better than that?
