If you joined us for our post on Annie’s adventures in juicing, you know that Annie is a huge advocate of healthy eating. So much so that she even got us our own smoothie blender for the office—perfect for whipping up tasty, low-cal snacks using our weekly fresh-fruit deliveries, plus some well-chosen greens and herbs.
When we’re not juicing here at Fresh American HQ, our snack venue of choice is the juice bar at Guido’s Fresh Marketplace in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, where the friendly and fruit-savvy April concocts all manner of nutritious goodies. Annie’s favorite on the Guido’s menu is the Summer Fling—mango, raspberries, fresh-squeezed OJ, apple juice, mint, and lime, with a kale leaf thrown in for an extra antioxidant boost. Annie also found a second love in the Home for the Holidays, a so-wacky-it’s-great blend of pear, arugula, banana, pineapple juice, and cranberry juice.
In the name of research (of course), we tried them both, and they’re terrific—sweet without being sugary or cloying, with just a hint of savory. We all got our own frequent-juicer cards, too, so we can zip into Guido’s on the way into or home from work and pick up a healthy treat to go.
Take a peek at the Guido’s menu and tell us in the comments which one you’d most like to try. Or if you’ve been inspired to create your own custom blend, please share the deliciousness!
