Canine Crush: Lady, with In Touch News Director Jo Piazza

You’ve no doubt heard the saying that behind every great man is a great woman, but who’s behind all the great women of the world? Dogs. We’re pretty sure of it. Case in point: this mixed-breed beauty with an amazingly expressive face—and a flair for design, including a sassy Dash & Albert WOUF.

Pet parent/owner’s name and job title: Jo Piazza, Executive News Director for In Touch, and Life & Style, author of Love Rehab: A Novel in Twelve Steps

Dog’s name: Lady

Breed: Rhodesian Ridgeback/Labrador mix

Age: 6

How I found my pet parent/owner: I was born in Brooklyn, but my owner rescued me from the Northwest corner of Union Square when I was eight weeks old. She didn’t think I would get to be so big.

Favorite toy: Bones, balls, and underwear

Most unusual or interesting skill/trait: I think I am human. I can fit three tennis balls in my mouth at once.

Favorite spot to nap: In my human’s bed.

Winter sweaters and boots, or au naturel? I would rather eat lettuce than wear a sweater.

I spend a lot of time thinking about: how I can maximize the time that people pet me.

When nobody’s looking, I usually: try to figure out ways to steal underwear.
