Love the Old World look of tiled walls, but not exactly thrilled by the prospect of mortaring and grouting yourself silly? Then get thee to the site of British wallpaper and fabric designer Louise Body, who has come up with some of the jaw-droppingest wall coverings we’ve seen in a while. (Yeah, we know that’s not really a word. But way-cool designs call for their own creative language, don’t you think?)
Body’s Paper Tiles collection features ten trompe l’oeil patterns based on Victorian wall tiles that the designer has embellished with her own signature flower drawings, and printed on coated, nonwoven paper. The result is a durable, economical alternative to tile, with a distinctive European country house feel. Bonus: Body’s designs are printed on paper sourced from managed forests, using water-based inks, and the edge trimmings are recycled, so the wallpaper is as eco-minded as it is stunning.
