Need a little peace, joy, and chocolate this holiday season? We’ve got just the thing: Cookiehead cookies and brownies, made right here in our backyard of the Berkshires in Massachusetts. We’re partial to any snack that makes good on its tagline “Insanely tasty. Crazy smart,” by packing fiber, protein, and omega-3 fatty acids into one scrumptious, all-natural nutrition-delivery system. Okay, maybe it’s not the only nutrition-delivery system you need, but we’re still 1,000 percent behind any folks who’ve assumed the mantra “A healthy snack does not have to taste like sawdust.”
Founded by food-industry vet and baking brainiac Lisa Newman (read more about her on one of our fave local sites, Rural Intelligence), Cookiehead boasts five flavors of cookies—Dark Chocolate Chunk, Cranberry Orange Walnut, Honey Maple Walnut, Coffee Chocolate Almond, and Peanut Butter Chocolate—and some fudgy-good mini brownies made with people-friendly ingredients like whole grains, spelt flour, dried fruits, nuts and seeds, and dark chocolate. One of Health Magazine’s Best New Eats of 2011, Cookiehead is also eco-minded, and uses only recycled materials for their containers.
