Crafty Cocktails to Ring in the New Year

Even if you’re usually a boutique wine or craft-beer guy or gal, there’s something about New Year’s Eve that shouts out for a fizzy-fun cocktail. Thanks to the uber-knowledgeable Chris Weld of Berkshire Mountain Distillers, maker of some of the best artisanal spirits on the market, our New Year’s menu planning just got a whole lot easier with these refreshingly fruity twists on party drinks. Pomegranate Cocktail

For each drink:

  • 1.5 ounces Ice Glen Vodka
  • 1 ounce pomegranate juice
  • 1 ounce cranberry juice
  • 1 teaspoon fresh-squeezed lime juice
  • Lime twist (optional)

 

Pour all ingredients into a shaker filled with ice. Shake well, and strain into a martini glass or coupe. Garnish with a lime twist, if desired.

 

 

French 75

For each drink:

  • 1 ounce Greylock Gin
  • .75 ounces simple syrup
  • .5 ounces fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • Chilled Champagne
  • Lemon twist

Pour the gin, syrup, and lemon juice into a shaker filled with cracked ice. Shake well, and strain into a Champagne flute. Fill the rest of the way with chilled champagne, and garnish with a lemon twist.
