Store Crush: Details & Design

1

We can think of few things better than finding a gem of a store while out on the road. You know what we mean: the kind of place that has just the right mix of the fun and the functional, the frivolous and the fabulous, the cool and the kitschy—a place where we could easily spend an afternoon and still want to go back the next day. And the one after. Details & Design in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts, is just such a store, with a heaping spoonful of pretty on top.

Owned by Margaret Silvia, Details & Design specializes in that beach-chic look that celebrities spend hours trying to cultivate for their vacation selfies. Not only does Details & Design carry staples like indoor/outdoor wicker furniture, farmhouse dining sets, and nautical pillows, but they also have a great selection of driftwood accessories and rustic baskets. We also can’t get enough of their women’s clothing—an easy mix of casual and sexy, in drapey knits and soft cottons— as well as the preppy-cute rope bracelets and beaded clutches (with skulls!) and bags. Our favorite finds have to be the laid-back glam accessories, like tufted ottomans in the perfect griege tone, beaded chandeliers, and agate bookends in a deep shade of plum.

The next time you’re traveling near the coast of Eastern Massachusetts, drop in to Details & Design. And tell us in the comments about a favorite store that you found while traveling!

Love this store!
If you visit Chicago, please head to the Andersonville neighborhood (go north of Clark Street, past Wrigley Field, + you’re there!) . . .
. . . there you’ll find the most awesome store, Brimfield!
Julie, the owner, has the most fun mix of vintage + new!

My favorite store ever… and not because I was raised in the fabulous town where it is located!! Love the article and how beautifully you described Details and Design’s magical elements!
