Paradise Found

We consider ourselves lucky stiffs, because we happen to live an area with a vibrant culture scene that regularly highlights the arts and artisanal crafts. One of our favorite ways to discover new and hidden talent is by hitting fine and functional art showcases, like the Paradise City Arts Festival, held over Memorial Day weekend in the hip and happening city of Northampton, Massachusetts.

This year’s juried festival—now in its eighteenth season—was held at the old-timey Three County Fairgrounds and featured 260 artists and craftspeople from 30 states. Everything from life-size outdoor metal sculpture to photography, fiber arts, furniture, collage art, jewelry, glass sculpture, and hats (yes, hats!) was on display . . . as well as a few things we can’t even begin to categorize. Here are our top picks from this spring’s festival.
