I love hanging around in pj’s on Christmas Day – the only day of the year that I do this!

I relax during the holidays, after making things festive and sending gifts to family and friends, by thinking of what I want to purchase with the money gifts. I can think with pleasure options but do not have to cope with crowds and a deadline.

Nothing is better than snuggling under your dash and albert throw while your 80 lb husky lays in your lap!

Playing Christmas carols on the piano with my children and husband singing along. It takes me back to my youth and memory of Christmases in the past.

My favorite holiday activity-wow I need to think about this! It is probably sitting in front of the fireplace in the evening in a comfy robe drinking some hot cocoa or coffee and looking at the Christmas tree-of course my two pups-Olivia and Snoball will be with me.

Each year, I get a new sappy Christmas novel (nothing disgusting and nothing business-related!), put the family to bed each night and curl up to read in front of the Christmas tree. I love the peace and quiet, the nostalgia of an old-fashioned tree, and disappearing into another world for an hour or two!

I go to the book store, pick out all the new quilting magazines, get a cup of tea from the cafe and look at them all to see what I want to take home.

just like to sit in the dark, maybe with some music on, and look at the lights on the Christmas tree… usually with the furry children all snuggled around

I love to curl up in my Pine Cone Hill sheets with the latest installment in “The Best American Travel Writing” (part of Houghton Mifflin’s annual “Best American” series) and take a long trip to faraway places. With a Sheepy Fleece robe and throw, I could extend the journey from my pillow all the way to my reading chair.
PS It has been a great year on the blog. Congrats on the beautiful new format you introduced. It’s been cheerful, informative and fun.

I love to sit by the fire with my family and watch Christmas movies, with only our Christmas lights on. It is such a nice wind-down to our usually bustling day. Of course, I also love being quiet ALONE with my Bible study or a good book, a nice fire and a cup of coffee, hot tea or cider. A fire adds a warm, relaxing, homey touch to anything. 🙂
