Afternoon Delight

Annie and all of us here at Fresh American are jazzed to welcome a quartet of talented bloggers to our headquarters in the Berkshires. Joining us for a day of design dish and a peek behind the curtain of Annie’s studio are Lynn from Décor Arts Now, Amy from ABCD Design, Liz from Shorely Chic Interiors, and Tamara from Nest by Tamara. Design junkies that they are, they even put together a brand-new Annie Selke Pinterest board!

Stay tuned for more behind-the-scenes details of their visit. In the meantime, here’s one of our favorite moments: Annie and the bloggers enjoying conversation at Annie’s house. (Of course Dash had to join in.)

Like Annie’s rug? Then you’re in luck, because today’s giveaway is for the 8’ x 10’ Circle Fret tufted wool rug from Dash & Albert Rug Company–a $1,400 value! The giveaway starts on Friday, May 18, and runs until 11:59 EST on Sunday, May 20. All you have to do to enter is answer this question in the comments below: Which room in your house is most in need of a rug refresh? (View the full rules here.)

Congratulations to our winner, Terri from Oklahoma!

My kitchen. We have a very large open room with a seating area where we tend to hang out in more than any other room in the house. With two furry Corgis underfoot, I change the rugs out frequently.
Would love to have this beautiful rug!
Thanks so much for the wonderful opportunities this week!

It would also hide a FEW Princess Posie Cat hairs :^)
Red Neck Chic said you had a magic carpet over here and she was right!!
Thanks for posting,

My sunroom. Here’s why. It was 5:10am. Time to leave for the airport. We had allotted 5 minutes for travel, 5 minutes for parking, and 5 minutes for security passage, putting my husband, my one year old son, three year old son, myself, our carry-on luggage, stroller, and anything else to keep the kids from crying at our terminal gate no later than 5:30 to make the 6am flight. My husband and I had everything and everyone loaded in the car. The only remaining tasks before leaving the house was to let the dogs outside for the dogsitter. That’s when I discovered the dog had left a gift splattered all over the rug. Needless to say, we disposed of the rug upon returning from our trip. Oh – and we made the flight – because of a wonderful TSA agent who had pity for us on Christmas.

In an effort to quickly outfit my beach house I rushed and purchased a rug that was wrong from day one. I have lived with it for 6 years now and after surviving a puppy and visiting “grand dog” it is time for a rug that fits the house. I love Dash and Albert -such a beachy feel. I have some of their small rugs for my entry way but the large rug has been just a dream. I was excited to hear about this contest. What great rugs – very washable & fabulous colors that last.

My puppies: Coco I think she is a Min-pin mix, the sweetest most affectionate dog ever. A neighbor found her running for her life from her dogs out in the yard. She hid under a tractor and was so small they couldn’t get to her. This was on Christmas Eve Day 2009. She was about 6 months old but had puppies that we never found. Our neighbors knew I could not turn her away and they were going to put her in a rabbit pen and take her to the shelter after Christmas. I was horrified and cried and my husband finally agreed we could keep her until we found the owner. She was so ill and her little body was on fire. She shook all night and I just rocked her and I prayed that she wouldn’t die.
We went the next morning to the vet. He came in and gave her about 200 dollars worth of shots because there was no way to tell what was wrong. She was SO thin. We think she is a gift to us for Christmas. We do not have a rug to lay on any more because with three dogs I needed hard floors. But little Coco hasn’t much hair and really would be such a happy puppy to have a rug to lay on in front of the electric fireplace. She is now wearing a re sweater and will growls at me when I take it off. Its just a little growl, really. Cocoa would as you can see love the rug. Thank you everyone for taking care of your pets. They love us so much and we all ask is a little food and love and of course their shots for survival!! Have a great day and thank you for reading. Judy
