Sherwin-Williams Paint Color Palette—and a Giveaway!

As a designer, one of the questions Annie hears most frequently is “How do I come up with an interesting paint color palette for my room?” Her favorite way to do this is pretty simple: just choose a focal point or object—like a rug or a piece of art—and then build the color scheme around it.

StoneSoup2011

With this fail-safe method in mind, we turned to the color experts at Sherwin-Williams, and asked them to create a series of paint color palettes exclusively for us, based on some of Annie’s Dash & Albert rugs. The results are, in a word, gorgeous. Check out the first combo in this creative collaboration, featuring our best-selling, summer-ready Stone Soup woven cotton area rug,  along with Sherwin-Williams’s suggestions for how to use each hue. (We adore the bold pops of chartreuse, pink, and aqua!)

My whole house is in SW colors and I love them all, but I think my favorite is my guest bathroom in Rainwashed.

I like jet stream. Lots of color without being too bright or much for my taste.

My house is also painted with all SW paints, as a matter of fact this past weekend’s project was painting the basement bulkhead with their alkyd paint. I’m loving Clean Green & think that’d look great on our front door.

There are too many colors to list, but one of my favorites is Olive Grove SW 7734 – a color that works with almost everything.

We came to the Pine Cone Hill Outlet after a rainy morning at Brimfield and spent several hours. We had the best time and the ladies in the outlet were so helpful and nice. We all got great stuff and had the best time- thanks so much!

There is a robinsegg blue at SW that I love, but for the life of me I can’t remember the name of it. I was going to use it for my bathroom, but then changed to a Benjamin Moore color. I can’t remember the name of that either. Haha!

I tried “Sea Salt” for a laundry room project I’m working on, but it didn’t work. Too gray-ish for the room. So I’m still looking for my fave!
PS – Thanks for the thoughtful paint suggestions above.
