More Fresh Takes on Summer Bed Dressing

Here at Fresh American HQ, we have a pretty inspiring office space, with artwork, fabrics, photos, and finished home decor products practically as far as the eye can see. But one of the most coveted spaces in the entire complex is the Product Lab, where employees can indulge in a bit of decorating playtime, and try their hand at mixing hundreds of different bedding, rug, and accessory combos. In last month’s peek into the Product Lab, we brought you two bold, bright, effervescent looks for summer. Today we’re bringing you two more fresh looks that could easily transition into fall, thanks to Merchandising Manager Molly and Product Development Manager Stacy.

What we love: Molly struck all the right notes between feminine and tailored, pretty and chic—and the printed cotton sheets, with their big, swirling, colorful paisleys, were the perfect jumping-off point. She played into the brights with fuchsia ruffled shams, embroidered pillowcases, and a ribbed throw, then toned them down with a linen duvet and shams in a luxe indigo linen. The embroidered decorative pillows—in the same paisley pattern as the sheets—are a sweet, textural touch.

What we love: This bedding look is all about the play of texture, and the contrast of white with a single color. Stacy started with a high-contrast blue-and-white palette (in two main shades, indigo and French blue), then layered in printed sheets in a summery fern print to break it up. From the crisp embroidered-hem shams to the circle-stitch white quilt and the soft, enzyme-washed linen covers and throw, we could barely keep our hands off this bed as it was being made. Once Stacy added in the hand-embroidered, vintage French–inspired double boudoir pillow and the shell-applique throw pillow, we were hooked. Nap time, anyone?
