A Colorful Patio Makeover with Brittni of Paper & Stitch

How to Create a Bright and Colorful Patio | Fresh American Style

We recently partnered with Brittni Mehlhoff, the DIY and design queen behind the blog Paper & Stitch to help transform her bare and under-utilized patio into a bright and happy summer oasis! Let’s take a look at her patio before the makeover…

You can see why it needed a little TLC! We happily sent along our summer catalog and Brittni chose a slew of colorful and eye-catching pieces from our new Palm Springs collection.

We love how she chose our Frida Wool Rug as a jumping off point for color inspiration! The happy corals, blues, and cheerful yellows play together beautifully and were a nice juxtaposition with the oodles of greenery she incorporated into the design—a must for any outdoor space.

Now for our favorite part… the “after!” Let’s take a look at Brittni’s completed patio makeover!

Brittni chose to layer our Frida Rug atop our Catamaran Stripe Graphite/White Indoor/Outdoor Rug as the “base.” Although our wool rugs are not recommended for outdoor use, her patio is covered and she plans to move the rug inside during any inclement weather.

Brittni chose a handful of our indoor/outdoor pillows as accents for her space, including our Trimaran Stripe Indoor/Outdoor Pillow in Daffodil and White and our Mingled Turquoise Indoor/Outdoor Pillow. Brittni also got creative and covered one of her own decorative pillows with our Stone Washed Linen Coral Sham. They offer the perfect pops of color on her white nest chair and can be used for additional seating in a pinch!

We’re so happy we were able to help Brittni turn her patio from blah to beautiful! To see more of Brittni’s work, check out her blog here.
